We received the following message from Old Boy James Lawn. We wish him all the best and we a re sure the FDMC community will be behind him all the way.
Not sure if anyone knew but as an Old Boy (2001-2007 day boy 01-02 and boarder 03-07) I thought FDMC might like to know one of their own is in the National final for the Young Farmers competition this year! If it is at all allowed it would be great to get a few old boys behind the cause - the Grand Final begin held in Palmerston North, but also there is a FMG Peoples Choice Award for this years FMG Young Farmer of the year. This competition offers the chance for the individual to win a Fitbit, our local Taranaki-Manawatu Region to win $1000 and hopefully a step closer to me winning the FMG Young Farmer of the Year 2017! We have received the sad news this morning of the passing of past staff member Brian Coulthard. Brian has been living in Melbourne in recent years and yesterday lost his long battle with illness. Brian was our teacher of Physics during the early 2000's while his wife Rosie had taught at the College in a number of capacities during the 80's and 90's. Both of Brian sons, Peter and John, are old boys of the College from the late 1980's era. Brian was an outstanding Physics teacher and a gentle character with a somewhat wicked sense of humour. He will be well remembered by those he taught and worked with.
Our condolences to Brian's family and friends and we can assure them of a place in our thoughts and prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
