The 2011 School Magazine has been released to students today - it is another great effort from Jane Connolly and her team. Because you are special people the link below will also allow you to download and browse your own copy of the magazine - happy reading.
Head Boy for 2012 Sam Fastier is seen greeting Ben Fitzgibbon on his first day at FDMC. Today all the students are at school with normal classes underway. Bring on 2012!
Today saw not only the start of a new year at FDMC but also the beginning of a tradition. For the first time we started with a Powhiri welcoming all new students/parents and staff to the College.
The new boys looked a little over awed to begin with but we know from past experience it will not take long before they think they are running the show!
The new room upgrades in the Middle Hostel is almost completed. Now we await the return of the boarders to add a little colour and caharacter to the rooms.
After many years of students and cars sharing the same entrance to the College, this year's students will be coming and going on foot along a whole new pathway. The new path loops around the Brothers residence and past the College Chapel.
Now all we need to do is train the old hands to use the new way!
Great photo in today's Daily News of staff member Peter Imgram's young boys. Jamie and Tommy were caught proudly displaying their versions of Dad's facial adornments.
A great day for the Ingram family as Peter shared in the world record opening T20 partnership with Jamie How at Pukekura Park. We suspect it won't be long before these two likely lads are creating more headlines of their own.
We have added a new page to our site - the Registered Old Boys page. Have a look at who is listed - it is good to see a few from most years. The challenge is now to get a lot more of you on the list.
We have not published the email address of the registered old boys but if you want to make contact with an old mate you can email us for details.
We came across this pic when looking through a number of 2002 snap shots. It dawned on us that this year will mark 10 years since the photo was taken - a fact that might frighten those in shot as much as it does us!
We have taken a bit of artistic license with this archive photo as we think it is a great example of the pride Tess Gaffeny had for "her boys".
You can expect a few more "works of art" as the year progresses.
It's a new year and summer seems to finally have arrived. This photo of Jackson Herbert circa 2002 seems to sum up the feeling of the sun on your back.
Given the La Nina weather pattern we are still experiencing we suggest you make full use of every sunny day we get!
